What a strike!

All week we had great temperatures in the 70s.  Today was the first day of the beginning of the Halloween weekend.  I’m not a big fan of Halloween, I very seldom wear any costumes to celebrate such holiday.

We spent the night bowling.  Good thing I wore socks tonight since we were renting bowling shoes.  I remember when bowling shoes were something I would wear in public besides the bowling alley – that must have been circa 2008…

Currently: listening to 2original (Mixed by DJ Neil Armstrong).  It’s been a minute since the last time I listened to this album, and I’m still feeling it!  Love that he mixes hip hop with the classics.

Sunny day and Mondays

Another start of the work week… Every morning I tune into the weather channel to determine what outfit I should wear that day.  Today was a clear sunny day in the 70s!  Can you believe it?

I wore my Marc Fisher Vica in black patent leather.  I love, love, love these shoes!  I feel so sexy every time I wear them.  Since I wanted the focus of my outfit to be the shoes, I donned a plain white tee and jeans today.

Currently: watching The Breakfast Club.  It’s weird how pot has been in so many 80s movies and I just noticed this recently….  Going to high school, I don’t remember lockers and wall hallway colors being so bright.  My locker was either grey or tan and the walls were beige… maybe this only applies to Shermer High School in Shermer, Illinois.

Lazy Saturdays

Weekends are usually the days where I would run errands and do housework around the house.  Not today.  Today, I stayed in my pjs and slippers and did nothing.  Quite unusual but I had a great time not doing anything.  Yes, tomorrow (or today) I will have to make sure that all the laundry is done and errands taken care of before the day is over.

Currently: watching Sex and The City 2.  My input, 2nd time around was a lot better than the first.

Casual Fridays

I’m always hesitant dressing casual on Fridays for work.  While there are no such dress codes that are followed, I tend to wear business casual outfits in fear that my idea of “casual” doesn’t correspond as proper office attire.  The office was pretty empty today and I decided that during lunchtime, I will pull a switch-a-roo and change into my comfy casual wear.

While I did not wear my sweats - I save those for Mondays :)  I did rock my Saucony Jazz.  These kicks are my go-to when I don’t feel like getting dressed with a pair of jeans and a white shirt.

Currently:  watching Empire Records on Fuse HD.  Everytime this movie comes on, I feel compelled to watch it.  Totally brings back a memory of the first time I stayed over my cousin’s house in Union-we didn’t have anything to do so we ended up watching this movie and fell in love with it.

Nice day Wednesday

Today (Wednesday) turned out to be a nice day.  Luckily I wore my black suede espadrilles.

Fall is already here.  Walking to my car I feel the cold breeze and melted frost coats my car.

I’ve been searching a lot of places online for some oxfords and I’m continously searching….

Currently:  watching (500) Days of Summer.  I “heart” Joseph Gordon Levitt.  While, he was mostly known from 3rd Rock From The Sun and 10 Things I Hate About You, I started noticing him (more attractive) in The Lookout.

You must have the Mondays….

I never understood what that saying really means.  All I know is that I’ve been using this phrase ever since I heard it in Office Space.

Back at my previous job, I was notorious for rockin’ sweatpants on Mondays.  Little did I know that my former coworkers were actually keeping tabs on my outfits.

I donned my Michael Kors black patent leather sneakers with my tweed blazer and jeans.

Yes, time does change… but I always manage to stay a little bit casual on Mondays.  I guess maybe because, the weekend is over and I don’t want to put too much effort in figuring out what to wear since the beginning of the work week is here.

Currently:  watching the first season of Sex and The City.

Style Pile

Last week, I gladly participated on the Style Pile project for iVillage Beauty and Style column.

It is basically an image of items that define your style.  This was so much fun to do.  Each item on this pile was carefully selected to show my aesthetic.

Currently: feeding a hungry 5 year old toast with butter since he didn’t eat much dinner.

Mommy, I wanna do that too!

With all the picture taking I’ve been doing lately, my Baby Boy has decided to join in on the fun….

Image was taken by himself.

Sunday shoes

Sunday is church day.  While some people seem to wear their “Sunday Best”, I’m wearing my sweats and sneakers.

This afternoon, we will be running errands and getting some furniture and it is never cute (although, I’m sure quite entertaining) to lug around boxes over 3 flights of stairs in heels.

Currently: watching “The Challenge: Cutthroat” and crushing on Abram.  I love a man that takes charge!

Welcome Fall! (with a hint of Summer)

Ah! Fall is here! My favorite season of all... the beginning of all the holiday festivities to come.

And to welcome this blog and my shoes (I would wear) each day.

It's been 3 years at Christmas time that I got my first Ugg boots. They were given to me by my husband-the Chocolate suede sheepskin Ugg Classic Short. To this day, now that I've acquired quite a collection, these were still my favorite of all, and the first shoes I start the season of fall with.

Since I was anticipating the cool breeze, I donned my sweaterdress, black tights and my Chocolate Ugg Classic Short.  Little did I know that today will be a warmer than usual weather-think sunny Spring weather with a temperature of 73 degrees.  Luckily, I (always) have a pair of flip flops in my car that I changed into.  Sadly, I still had to keep the sweaterdress on.
