My new LOST

Ever since LOST has signed off the air... there was an emptiness that I was desperate to get filled.

Welcome American Horror Story in FX!  Ever since the first episode, I was insanely hooked!

Now, I don’t really do scary... I’ve had my share of scary movies seen in the past.  While I do find them scary, it didn’t really leave any unsettling feeling.

Until one day, Hubs and I made plans to go to a haunted walk thru with his cousin and (now ex) girlfriend.  OMG!  was I f-ing scared!  I screamed, I held tight and kept my eyes shut the whole time!  I had to rely on Hubs to lead the way hoping not to fall on my ass while I clutched on to him like the coat on his back!  Yes, I was that scared!  And ever since then, I was never the same.  I had avoided horror/scary movies.

Yes it is scary but now that it’s evolved and got its footing, it’s more suspenseful than anything.  So many plots and twists that is so engaging!

Give it a try, I’m sure you will be hooked!

Currently:  Catching up on American Horror Story - it got accidentally deleted from the DVR.  Luckily the encore from last week’s tonight!

Goodnight.

goodbye Ms. Irene, hello Mr. Electricity

With hurricane Irene touching down our area, we were greeted with no electricity Sunday at 4am.
Okay, not so bad since we were about to go to sleep anyway with the hope that power will come back on once we awoke.
Unfortunately with natural disasters certain expectations are sometimes not met.
That morning, (or should I say, afternoon) we were greeted with no lights!

Sunday came and went and still no electricity which wasn't so bad since it was raining all day anyway and our plans was to stay indoors throughout the day.  Candles kept us company along with our individual iPod touch to keep us company.
Food was a totally different story.  I got a just-turned 6 year old little boy to feed.  Luckily, gas was still working so I was able to cook us some breakfast consisting of eggs, hotdogs and rice.  Cooking rice was a task of its own.  Thank goodness for watching my mom cook them stove top growing up.

Monday - luckily, I didn't have to come in since I was still on vacation and still no power.  Unfortunately the day off recovering from vacation that I anticipated had become a not so relaxing one.
2 days without power could make us go somewhat insane!
And to top it off, Baby Boy's bday celebration was this night.  Before enduring the Chuck E Cheese experience, me and Hubs has decided that it would be better for Baby Boy to spend a couple of days at the grandparents' since they had power and cable.
After the party celebration, we went home in hopes that power has been restored - it wasn't.
I don't know what it is about no electricity that makes you have insomnia.  Could it be the buzzing of electric current silently humming in your ear actually lulls you to sleep?
How was I suppose to sleep and wake up to get to work the next day?

Tuesday morning - still hoping with no luck :(  Okay this is day 3 of no power!  Man, I was so excited to be back to work!  A first in my book.
Tuesday night - As we drive home from visiting our friends, we still had high hopes of coming home to a lit pathway.  Around the bend before reaching our street, the road was well lit, once you get to the curvy road, it becomes total darkness and we knew... still no power.  I'm starting to get used to this....

Wednesday approx 5am - I awoke with this feeling... I could see our hallway lit... what is it?  Could it be?  We got power!  The hallway light that we left the light on is lit!  Oh glorious!  Had to wake Hubs up to ask him to turn off the light....

While, I have complained about our no electricity experience.  I should be grateful that we actually have a place to sleep while there are others that does not.
I am grateful for friends and family that was able to "house" us in our time of need.

It was quite an experience, something for the books but something that I wish not to repeat again....

Sleep = quiet time

When baby boy was still a baby, I used to take pictures of him sleeping all the time.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve really captured this quiet and tranquil moment.

Happy Memorial Day

Memorial day is the start of the summer, beginning with a three day weekend.
Sorry didn’t get to post any shoe pics today.

Hopefully this can make up for it:

Memorial day was also the weekend of my senior prom.
Yes that’s me in the middle wearing a purple sequins bedazzler of a number!  Paid by yours truly for $200 bills!  Don’t know if you could tell from this pic, but this was circa 1990’s.  Don’t remember why I thought it was a good idea to do my own hair!
P.S.  Thanks girl for tagging me... I feel that I’ve been lost for a while... and now I'm found!

Currently:  listening to Christopher Cross station in Pandora.... (click me).... which reminds me to update with more stations and shoes!

Thanks for visiting!
XOXO

Running, jogging or speed walking.... whatever you call it, it’s exercise!

So I’ve been doing a little bit of walking in the morning on the weekends!  Now that the weather has been nicer outside, I decided to start enjoying it with a nice brisk walk...

Of course what great start would it be if it wasn’t for a shoe?  A particular shoe that you can wear and enjoy wearing.

I must say, while I love my heels and platforms.. I often feel sexy in my kicks too!  One of them is this pair of sexiness.

BTW, have you guys seen the Showtime reality show Gigolos???? OMG!  What a funny show!  It’s always fun to see how guys interact with other guys are like....

I’ve always enjoyed Showtime entertainment... they have my favorite shows Queer as Folk and Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

Jump into Spring in Espadrilles

Spring weather is upon us... and what better to welcome the warmer Spring weather Easter weekend than wearing some  platform espadrilles!

Here is my latest lust...

Valentino

Valentino Bow Trim Espadrille

Love, love, love this shoe!   It has Valentino’s signature bow, espadrilles platform with adjustable buckles... mmm, mmm, mmm...

Lusting over the shoe and getting it are quite different things... Sadly my budget doesn’t seem to agree with my porn... so what do I do?  Try to find something practical...

Oh sweet miss! My search has been found....

April showers....

April welcomes us to Spring with showers... and what better outfit to step outside with than with a great trench coat.

Here are my faves:

3 Miss Sixty Women's Double-breasted Studded Trench Coat

Currently:  Netflix’in Prison Break season 4.  I lost interest in the show when it started to drag around season 3 and I’m lovin’ the story line for season 4.  Oh great!  I’m hooked again!

Ciroc Coconut shot

So I know that I have been MIA for a minute.  I’ve been so busy lately.  Nope.  that’s a lie!  I’ve just been lazy.  I guess I really don’t have anything to write about and my outfits have been repeats.  But don’t fret since Spring is approaching - not fast enough though.

I’ve been excited to try Ciroc Coconut ever since my good friend mentioned it to me months ago.  So I decided to purchase this sought out hard spirit at a local liquor store.  As it turns out, I had to go to 3 stores to find Ciroc.  The 1st store I went to didn’t even carry this and the other one didn’t have a small bottle.

Okay so this is how I took Ciroc Coconut.  While searching over the web, I have found that majority of people have mixed this with pineapple juice.  Unfortunately, I don’t have any pineapple juice so I’ve decided to drink it straight up.  I’m not a fan of just drinking liquor neat or on the rocks-I needed something to lessen the strength when doing shots.

I’m a fan of lemon drops so why not give it a try... Ciroc Coconut lemon drops!

shot_glass_conical

This will be enjoyed in a shot glass

What you’ll need is:

CIROC COCONUT

Ciroc Vodka.

What great way to start your first ingredient with the main ingredient to the recipe!

lemon-wedge

organic-raw-sugar

A lemon wedge dipped in sugar.

I love using raw sugar... gets me all nostalgic with the taste of sugar cane.

And I must say, it was delish!  The Ciroc Coconut was pretty smooth going down and no after taste is left in my palate.

Currently:  listening to Christopher Cross channel in Pandora.

This blog was actually created and saved as Draft for a minute.  Been obsessed with Prison Break lately.  But that will be for another post....

Be back soon... more posts coming.

Theme: regrets

Figures that it’s a full moon tonight.
photo
Since so many weird s*** happened today.

I usually like to stay in the safe zone when conversations between people are the norm.  I’m the quiet one, I rarely say much, when someone asks me a question, I would respond without my own opinions afraid to get a bad reaction and I never let any one in on my personal life unless I feel that I could trust them.  Yes, some people will say I’m a little naive.  I guess that’s what you get when you always play it safe.

I updated my Pandora blog post (seen here).  Enjoy.

Currently: catching up on Jersey Shore and getting excited about ABDC (premiering on April 7 at 10pm) and Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory (premiering on April 4 at 10:30pm).

Top 5

Ever since Charlie Sheen's insane rants and recent appearances, it seems that his movies are getting shown more frequently in the Premium Channels of my Comcast cable.  I looked through imdb.com and this guy has quite a resume!  I mean, I knew that already, but there were just so many movies/tv shows listed (66 to be exact).  So this got me thinking about my top 5 Charlie Sheen movies/tv show appearance....

Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)

Ferris-Buellers-Day-Off-1986-–-Hollywood-Movie-Watch-Online-212x300

Sure his role was short but still memorable.  Gave Ferris’ sister Julie (played Jennifer Grey) some good advice then made out with her.

Charlie and Emilio (queue the Butabi brothers yelling, "Emilio, Emilio" from Night at the Roxbury).  And, don’t forget the “golf clap”.  Not a good movie but I actually watched it...

B0000

The Three Musketeers (1993)

Top 10 Movies (I would always watch)

Tonight was the Oscars.  While I rarely catch the movies from the nominees, here are the movies that I thoroughly enjoyed.

There are certain movies that I seem to watch when I’m doing house chores around the house.

As mentioned in my previous post ( here ) since then I have listened to music.  However on my lazy days vegging out in front of the tube, there are certain movies that I would watch repeatedly.

So here goes, my top 10 (+2) Movies:  - I added 2 more....

* This of course is not in any order *

Dance Til Dawn

Dance ‘Til Dawn (1998)

Okay, this was pretty much an all star cast.  Most of the actors in this movie are recognizable except for Brian Bloom (who plays Kevin McCrae).

Casual Sex

Casual Sex (1988)

I don’t know why I like this movie so much...

Troop-Beverly-Hills

Troop Beverly Hills (1989)

5a15b3c4a7f1c2a82dd3c8bd8193527e

Clueless (1995)

There were so many catchphrases from this movie.

“Dee, I’m Audi”, “It’s da bomb!”, “nice stems”, “I totally paused”, “classic!”, “you gave him a toothache”

house-party

House Party (1990)

I’ve always wished that all house parties I’ve attended was this hoppin’!

And yes, I do know how to do the Kid n Play with the tap foot and all....

amelie_01

Amelie (2001)

I love this movie!  It was so refreshing, the story and the scenery... After watching this, I’ve become an Audrey Tatou fan.

467468_DV_L_F

The Princess Diaries (2001)

I liked this one and the sequel.  Who doesn’t love Julie Andrews anyway?

220px-Couples_retreat

Couples Retreat (2009)

Okay, this movie has gotten a lot of bad reviews.... it’s not the greatest Vince Vaughn movie and really, I would have preferred if they omitted the guitar hero scene but regardless, I thought it was a good movie nonetheless.

italian_job_ver4

The Italian Job (2003)

NeverEndingStory-DVD

The NeverEnding Story (1984)
